Our Story, Rooted in Care
From a small Colorado practice to a growing Washington presence — Step Up ABA was built by clinicians who believe every child deserves individualized, family-focused care.
A journey that began with one shared belief
Step Up ABA has a history which is rooted in the passion for helping individuals with Autism. After moving to Colorado, Carolina and Erik realized quickly that meeting the needs of individuals with Autism was a journey they wanted to take together.
Their journey began in 2017, under the name Swift Behavioral, in Colorado — providing in-home ABA therapy services to families in need. Their approach, which emphasized high-quality, family-focused care, quickly gained a reputation for excellence in Colorado Springs.
“We didn’t set out to build a company — we set out to build the kind of care we wished existed for every family.”
The values that guide every session
Every chapter of Step Up ABA has been shaped by the families we serve and the clinicians who walk alongside them.

Return to Washington
In November 2019, Carolina and Erik bring their approach to their home state. 2020 is spent carefully building the practice and planning for greater impact.
Step Up ABA opens in Kent, WA
The first center opens its doors in Kent, rooted in a commitment to individualized, evidence-based therapy plans designed around each family's needs.
Growing across the country
Step Up ABA continues to expand with plans for many more centers nationwide — always anchored in high-quality, family-focused care.
Carolina & Erik — builders of a better model
After achieving great success in Colorado, Carolina and Erik decided to bring their unique approach to their home state of Washington in November 2019. They spent 2020 building their practice and developing a plan for how they could impact more families of children with Autism.
Today, the company’s dedication to providing high-quality, family-focused care remains at the heart of its mission to improve the lives of children with autism.
To partner with families to better the lives of kids with autism
Through our commitment to excellence and dedication to making a difference in the lives of families, Step Up ABA has become a trusted and respected provider of ABA therapy services in every community we serve.

What Families Are Saying
We’ve had the honor of supporting hundreds of families across Washington. Here’s what some have shared.
Our son has made incredible strides since starting with Step Up ABA. The therapists are so patient, consistent, and genuinely invested in his growth. We finally feel like we have a real team in our corner.
The multilingual staff was a huge comfort for our family. They worked with us in our language, respected our culture, and made the entire process feel welcoming and safe from day one.
In-home therapy was the perfect fit for our daughter. She feels safe in her own environment, and the progress we’ve seen in her communication and daily skills has been truly remarkable.
We've helped hundreds of families from various backgrounds improve outcomes — let us help yours!
